The teaching team of the Psychological Research and Counseling Center of Southwest Jiaotong University led by Professor Ning Weiwei won the second prize of National Teaching Achievements Award with their years of achievements in holistic promotion of mental health of college students and the nationwide leading innovation demonstration system for mental health education. The team comprises 10 members. They are Ning Weiwei, Chen Li, Chen Hua, He Liqun, Xiao Fang, Dong Jie, Xu Jian, Yang Xingpeng, Jiang Hongbo, and Wu Shunling. The award ceremony was conducted at the Talents Conference of Southwest Jiaotong University for the Year 2014 on Dec. 10th, 2014.

 Based on the project of talents cultivation quality control and teaching reform for Sichuan provincial higher education for the year 2009, the national curriculum platform, five science education bases and one experiment center, we have established a teaching team for the cultivation of all-round students, and a team of counselors for one-on-one psychological counseling.

  The Psychological Research and Counseling Center has established a five-module mental health education innovation system, namely, the classroom teaching, crisis intervention, experiment and training, psychological culture, and social service.

  In his conference report entitled “Deepening the Work on Students Affairs Comprehensively by Centering on the Talents Cultivation Objectives”, Mr. Chen Zhijian, the deputy secretary of the party committee of Southwest Jiaotong University spoke highly of the fundamental and critical role of mental health education in talents cultivation. He indicated that Southwest Jiaotong University would support the application for the “National Demonstration Center for Mental Health Education and Counseling” to put the important role of mental health education in talents cultivation into full play and maintain the nationwide leading influence of the Psychological Research and Counseling Center of Southwest Jiaotong University.
