The 2015 training symposium on national college students’ mental health education was opened on March 20, 2015. It was organized by the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education and co-organized by Southwest Jiaotong University. Mr. Feng Gang, the director of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Li Guanghua, a member of Sichuan Provincial Education Committee and a member of the Party Committee of Sichuan Provincial Education Department, Mr. Wang Shunhong, the secretary of the Party Committee of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Mr. Chen Zhijian, the deputy Party secretary and the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Southwest Jiaotong University attended the opening ceremony. At the two-day symposium, Mr. Feng Gang presented the general guidelines for college students’ mental halth education on behalf of the Ministry of Education, and 14 representatives selected form about 110 delegates of more than 100 prestigious universities introduced their achievements and experience in college students’ mental health education. During the symposium, the delegates also visited the Demonstration Center for National College Students’ Mental Health Education and Counseling based in the Psychological Research and Counseling Center of Southwest Jiaotong University.
