Are you still trying hard to seek the truth of happiness? On April 9 in classroom X5331 Associate Professor Lei Ming unveiled the truth of happiness from the perspective of differences between Chinese and western cultures in his fascinating lecture for the psychological salon.

In his lecture, Mr. Lei focused on the following aspects that are closely linked with happiness:

1. Interpersonal relationship is an important source of happiness;

2. In China the sense of happiness is process-oriented while in the West the sense of happiness is goal-oriented;

3. Rationality and morality are the striking features of happiness in China while in the West happiness is not so rational as it is in China;

4. Vigor and calm are the two features of the happiest people in China;

With some vivid examples Mr. Lei illustrated the features of happiness and the differences of outlooks on happiness between China and the West. The lecture finally ended with students' warm applause.
