From October 28th to 30ith at the branch training center of Ziyang Power Supply Company, associate Professor Wang Xiaorong and Doctor Zhang Xuewei offered three-day psychological training on safety on behalf of the Psychological Research and Counseling Center of SWJTU to the intermediate counselors of Ziyang Power Supply Company of State Grid Corporation of China. Altogether 30 people including the party secretaries, branch party secretaries, directors of Party-masses’ affairs offices, and the psychological counselors recommended by the grass-roots units attended the training.

Ever since Southwest Jiaotong University conducted the elementary psychological counseling training sessions in 2014 for Ziyang Power Supply Company, Ziyang Power Supply Company has established a team of psychological counselors who have been working as the close friends of employees and trying to resolve the actual problems in their work and daily life.

This training was composed of mental health group workshops, identification of psychological problems, psychological assistance, and crises intervention. Through diversified activities, including lectures, team activities, happiness sharing, and role play, the training enabled the trainees to master the theoretical knowledge of mental health, as well as the methods for identifying and coping with the general psychological crises.

“Thanks to this training, we’ve got to know how to put ourselves in others’ shoes, and we are more confident in offering psychological counseling to our employees.” The trainees commented.
