In order to further study and implement Xi Jinping's thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party, improve the work of mental health education in colleges and universities, enhance the teaching ability of young teachers, the Psychological Research and Counseling Center (PRCC) held the preliminary contest of the sixth mental health education courses teaching contest and PRCC’s preliminary contest of the tenth young-teacher teaching contest of Southwest Jiaotong University in the conference room X5501 on Xipu campus at 13:30 p.m. on September 30.
The experts and judges invited to this contest were from Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan University, the Psychological Society of Sichuan Province, Southwest University for Nationalities, Chengdu University of Technology, and University of Electronic Science and Technology.
A total of 8 young teachers participated in the preliminary contest. From the choice of teaching and learning methods to the grasp of the teaching process, from the process of teaching design to the presentation of teaching content, teachers have fully demonstrated their teaching ideas, teaching skills and teaching level, and demonstrated the "student-centered" teaching philosophy. The whole contest was exciting and successful.
With the theme of "life goal", Gao Yan guided students to determine specific and feasible life goals step by step through vivid practical cases. Hu Hao explained the significance and value of his course "career planning". Li Qiming chose the topic of "internal and external personality" and explained the characteristics and typical behaviors of extroverts and introverts through relevant research. Feng Guo presented a segment of her class entitled "There Is a Way to Remember". She unpacked the secret of memory. Yang Rui presented her interdisciplinary course "Traffic Society and Psychology" with actual traffic and socio-psychological phenomena, and led her students to thinking about the psychological laws behind traffic phenomena. Yi Mingyao presented the methods and techniques on occupational decision-making. Feng Jin presented a class on object recognition in cognitive psychology with the aid of Marr visual theory and painting. Yang duqiang expounded "career planning" through the dimensions of knowledge, ability and quality.
At the end of the contest, Professor Chen Qiuyan commented on the performance of the contestants. Professor Chen spoke highly of the teaching level of the participating young teachers and commented on the selection of teaching contents, teaching ideas, teaching organization, teaching proficiency, presentation of key and difficult points, blackboard writing, body posture and dressing. Professor Xu Ruolan gave guidance on teaching phases and teaching elements.
This teaching contest has not only enhanced the exchanges among young teachers, but also improved their teaching skills, and actualized the goal of promoting teaching ability through contest.
