At 2 p.m. on October 20th, 2021, a special lecture on the identification and prevention of depression was held in Conference Room 0202 on Jiuli campus. Sponsored by the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee and the Psychological Research and Counseling Center, the lecture was hosted by "Xinzhixuan" Mental Health Counselor Studio and co-hosted by the Graduate Psychological Society. A total of 243 online and offline students attended the lecture.

Before the formal start of the lecture, Ke Xiaojun, deputy secretary of the Party branch directly under the Psychological Research and Counseling Center, briefly introduced the speaker of the lecture. Professor Yuan Yin is a chief psychiatrist, the chief expert of The Fourth People's Hospital of Chengdu, the chief psychologist of Chengdu Minor Psychological Counseling Center, a supervisor of master students of Southwest Jiaotong University, a registered psychological supervisor of Chinese Psychological Association, a psychotherapist, deputy director of Psychosomatic Special Committee of Sichuan Medical Association, chairman of Mental Health Committee of Sichuan Geriatric Medical Association, vice chairman of Sichuan Mental Health Association, executive director of Sichuan Association of Psychological Counselors, chairman of Children's Mental Health Special Committee of Chengdu Preventive Medical Association. Then, with warm applause, the students welcomed Professor Yuan to start her lecture.

Professor Yuan lectured on the clinical manifestations of depressive disorder, diagnosis of depressive disorder and prevention and treatment of depressive disorder. First, with real cases and statistical data she reminded students to pay attention to depression. Then, she shared the self-esteem scale, and the students actively participated in the self- measurement. After that, she introduced the diagnostic criteria, prevention and treatment of depression through some cases. In the last interactive session, Professor Yuan invited two groups of students to participate in the drill on the stage respectively. The sincere performance of both Professor Yuan and the students on the stage moved all the students attending the lecture. The audience laughed and applauded and the lecture ended in a warm atmosphere.

Finally, Ke Xiaojun, deputy secretary of the Party branch directly under the Psychological Research and Counseling Center, made a brief summary: “I hope everyone can sort out today's content and apply it to life. I also hope that the students attending the lecture can actively help their classmates and friends who are depressed. I sincerely wish each of us a sunny mentality and a bright future. With Mr. Ke’s remarks the lecture came to a successful ending.
