At 2:00 p.m. on the afternoon of December 9th, Tian Ruiqi, Associate Professor of the Psychological Research and Counseling Center(PRCC), gave a lecture on the theme of “Stress Coping and High-efficiency Learning" in classroom X30610 on Xipu Campus. The lecture attracted more than 100 students of different ethnic groups, helping students alleviate the exam stress and injecting "mental" energy into their growth.
During the lecture, Madam Tian introduced the Yerkes-Dodson law and the theory of GAS (general adaptation syndrome) stress response stages. She suggested that students should actualize relaxation and high-efficiency learning through reasonable time management, problem solution, cognitive reorganization, self-affirmation, social support, proper nutrition, and moderate exercise. She told everyone to learn the "trick", namely to prioritize the right actions according to the level of importance and emergence, and learn to develop and implement a review plan.
At the end of the lecture, Madam Tian noted: "Although examination is very important, it is not the ultimate goal of life. We should see the good side of things anyway. We should love, accept, and comfort ourselves."
The audience gained a lot from the lively and interesting lecture. They said that they would apply the methods taught by Madam Tian to their preparation for the coming exams and learn to accept and love themselves at the same time.
